Young girls love making Flower Power Art especially in the spring time. In creating this fabulous project, the kids painted foam plates on both sides using acrylics. They then designed the flowers by drawing on the plates and cutting out their designs. We used bristol board for the leaves and and inner circles , which were then embellished with beads and sequins.Thin dowl rods were cut to form stems. I gave the children real empty wine bottles to paint for vases. After painting, we will hand cut beautiful prints from decorative cocktail napkins and decoupage the images on the bottles. A beautiful mothers day gift!
ALEXA age 6 shows off her incredible patriotic HEART FLAG PROJECT during a group session at the studio on Martin Luther King Day 2012. Alexa worked in acrylics while painting on cardboard. She later added 3-d elements such as a dove, stars and hearts.
